During my Information Design minor, I collaborated with artist Jan Rothuizen to translate a complex, real-world narrative into an engaging digital experience. The project centers on Palomino, Colombia—a region defined by sharp contrasts between its celebrated natural beauty and the overlooked social and economic challenges of the local community. To address this duality, we created an interactive digital map that allows users to explore both perspectives through a self-directed journey. By merging art, research, and visual storytelling, the experience transforms raw information into an immersive digital environment that makes complex stories accessible and impactful. As the lead designer on this project, I was responsible for the end-to-end process, including concept development, information design, UX/interaction design, visual design, and prototyping using tools like Figma and Adobe Illustrator.
