Sense & Set — Designing for Cognitive Clarity In collaboration with OLVG, we developed Sense & Set, a project focused on reducing cognitive overload among nurses in the Emergency Room (ER). In this high-pressure environment, nurses constantly process critical information, switch between tasks, and make fast decisions, which can lead to stress, fatigue, and mental overload. Through research, observations, and conversations with healthcare professionals, we explored where cognitive overload occurs and what nurses need to maintain clarity and focus. We translated these insights into practical, user-centered design solutions that support decision-making and fit naturally into existing ER workflows. The project explores how design can create a calmer, clearer, and more supportive healthcare environment.
